Bewilder Me

Bind my hands and eyes.
Turn me around.
Spin me spirals in your sunshine meadow.
Dervish damn me in your devil’s wood.
Howl out your bare wilderness, both barren and bristling.
Cover me in all its peat and bronze.
Hunt me, maddened and mulberried.
Rend my clothes with brambles heavy in thorny dew.
Frustrate my fleet escape with knotty willow tresses.
Mark me with ochre from the rings of a rotten oak.
Overwhelm my creature guardian.
Watch me fade,
My dull glower spark vanish.
At the last, abandoned,
I am inhabited by nothing,
And you, wild and away, tumble in play on the troublesome wind.
