In September 2012 I was lucky enough to visit Nunavut, staying for a week in Iqaluit. During that week I visited Qaummaarviit Island, which is a Nunavut territorial park. Qaummaarviit means ‘the place that shines’ in Inuktitut. The island has archaeological remains of stone huts that were the homes, around 800 years ago, for Thule people. The images in this gallery were taken on Qaummaarviit.
